Effect of Xylanase-Assisted Treatment of Oxygen-Delignified Eucalypt Kraft Pulp on ECF Bleaching

چکیده
The effects of treating industrial (laboratory-unwashed) oxygen-delignified eucalypt kraft pulp with a commercial endo-xylanase (X) on ECF bleaching performance were evaluated. Changes in fibre morphology, bleachability and quality, effluent parameters assessed. Although no significant morphological changes observed, fibres showed some external fibrillation. X stage reduced both the amount integrity xylans remaining fibres, causing their redistribution inside cell wall. In bleaching, treatment allowed reduction ClO2 NaOH loads by 20 10%, respectively. Furthermore, brightness stability enzyme-treated bleached pulps was improved, which assigned to decrease content hexenuronic acid residues. did not affect cellulosic counterpart cause impact papermaking properties, even when xylan degradation somewhat excessive. enzymatic caused increase chemical oxygen demand (COD) respective effluent. realistic conditions used provide better insight into overall this technology at mill.

study of enzymatic prebleaching effect on optical properties of bagasse kraft pulp in ecf bleaching
the effect of commercial xylanase enzyme in prebleaching of bagasse kraft pulp was investigated. xylanase enzyme from trichoderma viride was added to pulp at various doses of 5, 10, 25 and 50 iu/g pulp for reaction time 2h and then the enzyme treated pulp was bleached in d1ed2 sequences (using dioxide chlorine 4, 6, 8, 10% + alkaline extraction + dioxide chlorine 2% as active chlorine). the res...
متن کاملEffluent Loads From Different ECF Bleaching Sequences Used In Hardwood Kraft Pulp Bleaching
Effluent loads from different traditional and emerging ECF bleaching sequences were investigated. Oxygen delignified Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Acacia mangium kraft pulps having similar kappa number, ca 12.0 were used in this study. Different ECF bleaching sequences were compared with reference sequence, D0EopD1 in terms of effluent load, such as AOX, COD and TOC. Depending on the nature of s...
متن کاملEnzymes Improve Ecf Bleaching of Pulp
The delignification efficiency of different laccase enzymes was examined on the eucalyptus Kraft pulp. The laccase enzyme from Trametes versicolor showing the highest delignification efficiency was selected and used in the elemental chlorine-free bleaching sequence for improving the pulp bleachability. An appreciable reduction in chlorine dioxide consumption was also obtained. Further reduction...

In this study a poorly biodegradable (BOD/COD = 0.3) industrial alkaline ECF bleaching filtrate was treated using different advanced oxidation processes to evaluate their use in combined chemical-biological treatment aimed at increasing recalcitrant COD removal and improving final effluent quality. Oxidative treatments included ozonation combined with hydrogen peroxide (2, 5, 10, 20 mmol L(-1) ...

Oxidation of the manganese-substituted polyoxometalate [SiW(11)Mn(II)(H(2)O)O(39)](6-) (SiW(11)Mn(II)) to [SiW(11)Mn(III)(H(2)O)O(39)](5-) (SiW(11)Mn(III)), one of the most selective polyoxometalates for the kraft pulp delignification, by versatile peroxidase (VP) was studied. First, SiW(11)Mn(II) was demonstrated to be quickly oxidized by VP at room temperature in the presence of H(2)O(2) (K(m...
